Sunnyslope Students Named Phoenix Youth Ambassadors February 2012- Sunnyslope students Meredith Marshburn and Katherine Hofland are among twenty-one Phoenix high school students selected to participate in the Youth Ambassador Exchange Program.
The program, sponsored by the Phoenix Sister Cities Commission, selects deserving high school sophomores and juniors to live with a host family in one of nine cities worldwide in order to learn more about their culture and exchange ideas. Students are chosen based on their maturity, leadership and communication skills, and flexibility.
In the earlier part of the summer, Meredith will be traveling to Chengdu, China, and Katherine will be traveling to Hermosillo, Mexico. Then, in late July, the roles will be reversed, as these students house their host family's son or daughter.
Congratulations to both of these outstanding young ladies.
