Moon Valley Math Teacher Named "MVP in the Classroom" by Arizona Cardinals December 2011- Moon Valley High School math teacher and department chairperson Ashley Burns was recently recognized by the Arizona Cardinals as an "MVP in the Classroom." Ms. Burns was one of 24 K-12 teachers to be chosen for this honor this year.
The Arizona Cardinals partner with The University of Phoenix to give these deserving teachers four tickets to a regular season game, four VIP sideline passes, and a Cardinals jersey. Ms. Burns attended the Cardinals vs. Cowboys came, where she was formally recognized.
Ms. Burns was nominated by her school because of the large role she has played in the student success Moon Valley is seeing. She is also the sponsor of the Link Crew and Student Council on campus, helping students get involved on campus. Along with being very academically involved on campus, she is also the dive coach for the swim team.
Principal Craig Mussi says, "Ashley is a true hero on our campus, who has been a catalyst in moving Moon Valley from good to great."
