GHS Hosts Car Show During Centennial Celebration October 2011- Glendale High School's centennial celebration continues Thursday with three events no one will want to miss.
The evening begins at 4 p.m. with a "walk to remember," where alumni students, staff, and faculty can walk throughout the campus and view the changes that have taken place in the past 100 years.
At 6 p.m., those in attendance will be invited to move into the auditorium, where a dedication ceremony will be held. Honorees include the Heatwole family, long-time supporters of GHS; the Pullins family, a very athletic family who created a strong baseball heritage at GHS; Clyda Jean Martin Owen, a pioneer in girls' athletics; and Dan Lindsey, Glendale High's band director for 32 years who shaped thousands of young musicians.
A classic car show will begin on campus at 4:30 p.m. and will continue until 9:30 p.m. The cars will be located on the back side of campus, near the football field. This event will feature performances by the GHS band and choir and Glendale group, the Glenettes, in Heatwole Plaza. The GHS culinary, art, and woodshop departments will also be there, offering various items for sale.
Come show support for one of the state's oldest high schools!
