The Glendale Union High School District enjoys a rich 97 year history, serving Glendale and North Phoenix through our 9 comprehensive high schools and 2 alternative programs. Our 15,000 students demonstrate strong academic achievement on national, state and district assessments, participate fully in award-winning extracurricular and co-curricular activities and demonstrate positive citizenship through community service and civic involvement. Our nationally recognized curriculum, aligned to state standards and the demands of post-secondary education, is delivered by outstanding professional educators. Our new teacher mentoring program has been recognized as among the elite programs in America. Our district serves as a model for other districts who seek to demonstrate successful financial management. We are proud of our history of accomplishments.
The Glendale Union High School District also recognizes our responsibility to provide a bright future for our students. To accomplish that we have identified four strategic goals for the district:

Having been named in U.S. News & World Report as a district of schools who are among America’s top 100 schools, the GUHSD will continue to be accountable for results, communicate effectively with parents and serve the needs of all students.
